Don Powell has been practicing bankruptcy law in Phoenix for over 46 years in his own firm. His clients vary from large businesses in Chapter 11 reorganizations to individuals in liquidation cases. He has significant experience and connections, and leadership roles, in state and local legal organizations. He regularly accepts pro bono cases and participates in free legal services programs, resulting in recognition from bar organizations. He was on Bobcats, is on the Board of Directors of the UA Law College Association, received the UA Outstanding Alumni Service Award, is on the UA Alumni Governing Board, and was President of the Phoenix Chapter of the UA Alumni Association.
He received his undergraduate degree in business agriculture and his law degree from the UA. As a native Arizonan with a lengthy law practice, he can provide knowledge, direction, and understanding to mentees on networking opportunities and career direction. Don has mentored younger attorneys throughout his legal career and has coached youth sports teams for 18 years. Don is an experienced mentor, served as a mentor for the Wildcat Mentor Society last year and looks forward to bringing his talents to UA mentees.
