Gilbert Davidson

Sr. Consultant/former City Manager

Gilbert is an active member in state and local agencies. He currently serves as a senior consultant for the University of Arizona focusing on building the Wildcat community in Maricopa County. Prior to this role, he served as the Chief Operating Officer for Arizona Governor Doug Ducey’s senior staff and oversaw operations of all state agencies. Davidson’s work focused on bringing strategic management and performance principles to state agencies, including building on the governor’s record of efficiencies within state government and improving customer service.

Prior to his time in state government, Davidson served as the Manager of the Town of Marana — a position he was appointed to in 2008. There, he oversaw a period of rapid growth in Marana and guided the town through a number of challenging initiatives and planning processes. He began his tenure at Marana as deputy town manager in June 2005.

Davidson is a 1998 graduate of the University of Arizona with bachelor’s degrees in business administration and public administration.  He earned a Master’s of Public Administration degree from the UA in 2004. He grew up in Willcox, Arizona.
