Lacey John
Lacey Nymeyer-John is a native Tucsonan and a proud alumna from the University of Arizona. Lacey loves representing her Wildcat spirit, and has done so on national and international platforms, as a member of the Arizona women’s swimming and diving team. Her career highlights include winning NCAA individual and team championships, being named the 2009 NCAA Women’s Athlete of the Year, and winning a silver medal at the 2008 Summer Olympic Games in Beijing, China. Since graduating with her bachelor's degree from Arizona in 2009, Lacey has gone on to achieve a master’s degree in higher education.
She has a love for education and passion for helping college students and alumni. Lacey joined the Alumni Association after working in intercollegiate athletics since 2014. In her role in the athletic department, Lacey has worked in special events, community relations and student-athlete development. Her recent focus has been on student-athletes' personal and career development as well as community engagement and leadership. She has been a part of several initiatives including a Beyond the Student-Athlete Identity career transition course, Cats Who Care peer and professional mentoring programs, team culture and Peer Athletic Leadership workshops and the Inspiring Women programs.
Lacey is married to Chandler John '14, a fellow University of Arizona graduate, and has two children.
