Patty Stevens
After graduating from the University of Arizona’s College of Law in 1991, Ms. Stevens moved to San Diego, California. In San Diego Ms. Stevens worked in a family law firm assisting with a juvenile dependency caseload while also volunteering with the San Diego District Attorney’s Office. She returned to Arizona in 1994 and joined the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office, where she remains today. She has worked in the Trials, Gangs, Homicide and Capital Litigation Bureaus. Since December 2017, she has served as the Bureau Chief of the Capital Litigation Bureau. She has been handling capital cases since roughly 2000. She has been lead counsel on a number of complex capital and non-capital homicide cases. She supervises several attorneys and teaches on a variety of subjects, both locally and nationally. Ms. Stevens has received a number of local and national awards for her work and has truly enjoyed being a career prosecutor. She also loves being a supervisor and mentoring both her attorneys as well as other newer attorneys within the office. She is a double alumnus and looks forward to the opportunity to mentor fellow Wildcats.
