Ryan Shaffer
Ryan Shaffer graduated from University of Arizona in 1999. He then spent 22 years in the United States Marine Corps as an Intelligence Officer. In that role, he provided intelligence estimates at the tactical, operational and strategic levels. He worked with units as small as a squadron to the Combatant Command and even the Marine Corps Service Headquarters. During his career he deployed to combat zones 6 times. However, after 22 year he retired and is now working with the Army National Guard as a Strategic Planner. This involves understanding and interpreting national level strategic guidance and understanding how this will impact the Department of Defense and the Army National Guard. Ryan believes that there is no substitute for hard work and focused study in order to achieve your goals. Experience is always good to have, but most experience can be passed on to others. That is why he wishes to mentor those coming up on entering the work force.
