Sylvia Valverde
Sylvia grew up in southern Arizona and received from the University of Arizona her BS in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences in 2005 and then with her Doctor of Audiology in 2009. After briefly working in private practice, she commissioned into the United States Air Force with hopes to see the world while helping others. In the past eleven years, Sylvia has had the unique opportunity to work in both clinical (diagnostic and rehabilitative services) and industrial/occupational (hearing conservation program management) audiology settings for the both the Air Force and non-government companies such as providing consultation for the Korbel Champagne Cellars company.
Additionally, she recently was able to serve in non-healthcare roles for the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps Headquarters and currently as the Executive Officer to the Commander of the Jeanne M. Holm Center for Officer Accessions and Citizen Development, As a first-generation college student, she is passionate about helping others focus on what is possible for their future.
