Veda Andrus

Vice President, Education and Program Development

Veda Andrus (she/her/hers) is Vice President for Education and Program Development for The BirchTree Center for Healthcare Transformation (www.birchtreecenter.com). Prior to co-founding The BirchTree Center in 2000, she was Founding President and CEO of Seeds and Bridges Center for Holistic Nursing Education beginning in 1983. She began her nursing career as a nurse practitioner in Family Practice (University of Arizona) and College Health (Wesleyan University).

Veda is past President and International Director (1991-1995) for the American Holistic Nurses Association (AHNA) and is the recipient of the 2004 Holistic Nurse of the Year award. She served on the Board of Directors for the American Holistic Nurses Credentialing Corporation (AHNCC) and was the inaugural recipient of the Outstanding Support of AHNCC Certification Award. Veda served as the Delegation Leader for the first Holistic Nursing Delegation to China and Mongolia in 1994 through People-to-People International.

Dr. Andrus received her BSN from the University of Miami (1973), MSN from The University of Arizona (1974 – Go Wildcats!), and EdD from the University of Massachusetts (1991). She is Board Certified in Holistic Nursing and an Honorary Scholar for the Global Alliance of Holistic Nursing. Veda has authored many articles and book chapters and has presented keynotes and other presentations both nationally and internationally.

Veda has a passion for healthy living and well-being. Hiking, swimming, biking, eating organic foods, tai chi, meditation, yoga, and are all integral in her life.
